There are many financial resources available to 3CE customers. Customers enrolled in 3CE continue receiving their CARE, FERA, AMP, HEAP and Medical Baseline discounts; with no need to reapply for these programs. Those enrolled in CARE/FERA may also be eligible to apply for the newly available AMP Program which shields customers with past-due balances from disconnections. AMP
Provides up to $8,000 total past-due forgiveness for CARE or FERA customers and shields customers with past-due amounts from disconnection. Customers must be enrolled in CARE or FERA to be eligible for AMP.Â
Customers must also owe at least $500 in arrearages, or $250 for gas-only customers, with some portion of the arrearage at least 90 days past due. NEM customers are not eligible to participate at this time.
CARE and FERA
CARE is a monthly discount of 20% or more on gas and electricity. Participants qualify through income guidelines or if enrolled in certain public assistance programs.Â
FERA is a monthly discount of 18% on electricity only. Must be a household with three or more people. Participants qualify through income guidelines.Â
Emergency Rental Assistance Program
California passed SB91 approving $2.6B in emergency rental and utility assistance. Each county has been allotted a different funding amount and process for administering their program. Â
Applicants can receive assistance with past due rent and utility expenses. 3CE Customers can visit the state site to determine which entity is running their program: Housing Is Key (ca.gov)Â
